EDT School of Dance was founded for the purpose of providing aspiring dancers with the opportunity for pre-professional dance education. As such, the schools policies are designed to foster a professional attitude on the part of the student from the very beginning. All policies of EDT School of Dance are strictly enforced.
- Students must arrive and leave the building dressed in outdoor clothing and shoes, not ballet wear. Students may overdress.
- Students should not leave the building before, after or between classes unless accompanied by a parent or guardian
- Although students will not be called to the telephone, important messages will be passed along in a written note from the office.
- Eating, drinking and smoking are not permitted in the studio. A separate lounge is provided for the intake of food and drink. No gum chewing.
- Students arriving late for class will wait at the side of the studio until the exercise in progress is completed. Then, with a simple "excuse me" and the permission of the teacher, will take their place in class.
- Students enrolled in the program are required to take a specific number of classes each week to ensure proper progress and to remain at the class level.
- Weight must be under control. A tight but sensible and healthy rein should be kept on eating habits.
- Extreme tardiness will not be tolerated.
- Continued absences without sufficient reason, or continued misconduct, will result in dismissal.
- We are not in the baby sitting business, so please pick up your children within fifteen (15) minutes after the class is over. If you are LATE, a FEE of $5.00 WILL BE CHARGED to your account.
- Hair must be drawn smoothly and firmly up off the face and neck and dressed in a firmly secured bun.
- No jewelry, flowers or hair ornaments are to be worn in class.
- Sweat pants or rubber pants are not permitted in class. If leg warmers/woolen tights are worn for any class, they must be pink for girls and black for boys.
- The established school uniform must be worn by the entire student body except adult/jazz/character and tap students.
- Good personal hygiene is of utmost importance especially with all students coming in such close contact with each other.
